Love this place. Best staff ever. Well worth the drive and money. Great experience all around!

Small executive course with no water or sand traps. Good for novixe golfers. No blue or black tees available. Fairways are ok, but not lush thick grass. Staff is amazing, so pleasant and friendly!! They make this golf 4 stars, otherwise it would only be 3 stars.

We Love D.S.... best prices in town and challenging greens.... fairly short course, but the greens are all mounds and pin placement can be tough. Unfortunately limited clubhouse, for good drinks and eats, but the have cold beer when you are finished! I am a Liquor guy and sadly, they dont have the license for it. No kitchen for summer either, so dont go there hungry. I dont eat at a course typically, but just putting it out there....

Desert Sands has come a long way in the last year. I am impressed with how great the fairways and greens are looking. We have a lot of fun golfing this course. Itβs a smaller course, not overly complicated, except bring your putting game, pin placements are tough. There have been a lot of improvements and I continue to see more and more with the staff as well. I would recommend this course and we almost always meet new people that are friendly as well, all ages.

A very well kept executive course in Mesa. Played Desert Sands for the first time recently and had an overall solid experience. The course itself was in good shape (played February 2025). Fairways, greens, and rough were healthy. The desert does come into play as well. My biggest complaint would be the greens. I have played courses all across the Valley and can honestly say these were some of the hardest, most ridiculous pin placements I've ever played. Every green is located on a huge mound with severe slopes that have pins right in the middle of the steepest parts. No shot is rewarded, only penalized. I came to this executive course to work on my game and for a fun, quick round... not to play the Masters. I asked the greenskeeper about the pin placements and he stated, "wanted golfers to hit some trick shots". Oh... The clubhouse and pro shop show their age. Not much merchandise to look through. Rates are very competitive to other courses around. Definitely appeared to be a course for the local, older crowd. Pace of play was decent for a Friday afternoon. If you want impossible greens, give this course a shot. Not a bad executive course overall, I guess.
